As a live-service game, Fortnite keeps on updating regularly to bring in new weapons and challenges to gamers. Read on to find out everything new that has been announced as part of the Fortnite Battle Royale v20.30 update.
On May 3, the Fortnite Team announced that Battle Royale v20.30 is now rolling out to all users.
Fortnite Battle Royale v20.30 update: May the 4th festivities
For those unaware, May 4 is informally celebrated by fans around the world as Star Wars Day. The date is a pun on the iconic Star Wars catchphrase, “May the Force be with you” — giving way to “May the 4th be with you” among dedicated followers of the franchise. From May 3 to May 17, Fortnite players can get their hands on special Lightsabers and E-11 Blaster Rifles. You can also aim to unlock an Empire Banner by completing new Star Wars quests in the game.
Fortnite Battle Royale v20.30 update: Unvault the Choppa
Choppa is an in-game aerial vehicle that is usually controlled by faction members of The Imagined Order (IO). With the latest update, Fortnite has added Funding Stations for Choppas across all Seven Outpost locations in the game. All you need to do is “chip in Bars to bring this vehicle out of the vault.” Once a Choppa is fully funded, you can use it to fly across a map and take out rivals from the sky.
Fortnite Battle Royale v20.30 update: The Battle for Tilted Towers
A new POI battle now awaits Fortnite players. You can take on the IO and try to push them out in an epic skirmish to liberate the heart of the island. To make things challenging, an IO Blimp can be found patrolling the skies above the battle, where players can take on the hostile AI, Huntmaster Saber.
Fortnite Battle Royale v20.30 update: Shotguns rebalanced
All shotguns in the game have been rebalanced to ensure a fair amount of damage dealt with the weapon. This includes elements such as a new “max damage cap” feature, increased minimum pellet-hit count, increased headshot damage, and more.
Apart from the above, Fortnite Battle Royale v20.30 also adds a new Browse menu to help players find new games in their favourite genres. The update also fixes a bug involving most Seven Outpost Vaults being unopenable.
