Call of Duty: Warzone players will have not one but two Titan-sized hurdles during the limited-time Operation Monarch event. Operators (Warzone term for players) will have to stand their grounds against Godzilla and Kong, the two gargantuan monsters made famous by Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Monsterverse movies such as ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’, ‘Kong: Skull Island’, and ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’. Operators need to survive against the onslaught of Godzilla’s devastating Heat Ray Breath and Kong’s brutal Quake Slam to be the last team standing.
As detailed by Activision writer Daniel Noel in a blog post, Operation Monarch, the new Warzone mode and event will be live starting today, May 11, and will last till May 25. While Godzilla and Kong bring mammoth challenges, operators can try to deal damage to the monsters, and can eventually control both of them to deal damage to enemies.
Both Godzilla and Kong will move around the map and deal out “unparalleled wrath” when provoked. This includes basic moves such as Tail Swiper and Dorsal Slice for Godzilla, along with Fin Breaker and Aerial Axe Slash for Kong. Both the monsters also have a power move up their arsenal — Heat Ray Breath for Godzilla and Quake Slam for Kong.
Noel said that at the beginning of an Operation Monarch match, and at another random point throughout, both the monsters “may” become enraged and attack. This attack is called a Titan Frenzy. Noel advises, “After receiving a Titan Frenzy alert, an Operator has two options: tactically withdraw or attempt to suppress them by dealing direct damage.”

As mentioned, Godzilla’s known attacks include Heat Ray Breath, Tail Swipe, and Dorsal Slice. Operators will have a few seconds to get out of the way as when Godzilla will unleash his Heat Ray Breath, his scales will light up with an “icy-blue glow.” The minimap will also be lit up with several red circles right before the attack. “It’s best to avoid his line of fire; those who end up in its destructive path have mere seconds to evade the attack,” said Noel.

While Godzilla’s movement might be cumbersome, Kong is extremely agile. He can confuse opponents by darting around the map in giant leaps. Noel said, “Figuring out where he will land next requires further on-the-ground research from Operators. Keep your distance.”
Call of Duty: Warzone tips — How to control Godzilla and Kong
During a match, operators will come across Monarch Intel via supply boxes, special drops, and fallen enemies. This can be used to power up a special metre that can unlock handy items such as Loadout Drops and Killstreaks. When the metre is fully filled up, operators can unlock a powerful Titan Killstreak reward. Operators can also deal damage to Godzilla and Kong to gather additional Monarch Intel.
Upon unlocking a Titan Killstreak, operators can use a Titan S.C.R.E.A.M. device to control the monsters and take out enemies with either Godzilla’s Heat Ray Breath or Kong’s ground pound and a rock throw. It should be noted that multiple S.C.R.E.A.M. devices cannot be used one after the other, so timing and positioning are of utmost importance.
Operation Monarch can support 60 players and the last team standing will win a match. Players can also gain access to three Monsterverse Bundles inspired by ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’. These include the Godzilla Reactive Mastercraft Limited Time Bundle, Kong Limited Time Bundle, and Mechagodzilla Limited Time Bundle.
