What Is Pakistan's Cipher Case? How Imran Khan Is Involved As He Now Faces 10 Years In Jail

Imran Khan contended in 2022 that the revelation was part of a purported US plot to overthrow his government. Washington, however, consistently denied any involvement in such a conspiracy.

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was convicted on Tuesday in the cipher case and sentenced to 10 years in jail by a special court set up under the Official Secrets Act. Along with him, former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi was also convicted and awarded a 10-year jail term. A day later, on Wednesday, Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were convicted of corruption in the Toshakhana case and awarded 14 years of rigorous imprisonment.  Imran Khan's sentencing comes ahead of the
