A major controversy erupted Wednesday after Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury claimed that the words "socialist and secular", mentioned in the Preamble, were missing from the copies of the Constitution given to the MPs. Chowdhury said the government's intention was "suspicious" and this was a matter of concern.
