New Delhi: Alia Bhatt shared her experience of working on her first Hollywood film 'Heart Of Stone' alongside Gal Gadot. Alia shared that she shot her first action-film while pregnant in an entirely different country with a completely new team and was made to feel comfortable and safe. During an interview with Film Companion, for her upcoming production venture 'Darlings', Alia shared her experience.
In an interaction with film critic Anupana Chopra, Alia was asked her experience of working on her first Hollywood project to which Alia replied, "It was fun." On being asked if shooting a Hollywood film was outside her comfort zone, Alia answered, "Because here I am in London which is of course a city I love but we were shooting there and I have never shot in London before. And, I didn't take anybody from my team. I went totally alone, new hair and makeup team, totally new crew ummm no manager manager. I was literally by myself and I was shooting my first action film pregnant. So, I 'm like ok, how am I going to maneuver this? How is it going to be safety wise? Will I be able to handle it safety wise? What if I have a bad day etc.(sic)"
"So I was totally outside my comfort zone. I was away from home and I was missing my poha and dal-chawal and my bed and all of that. But they made it so comfortable for me. They were so so warm and kind and I am not just saying this. I genuinely mean it like they really went out of their way to make me feel extremely safe, extremely comfortable. And, yeah, I mean it's my first Hollywood film. Like, I think I had a pinching moment there being like I cannot believe I am shooting my first Hollywood film. It was really really exciting...(sic)"
Alia later added that 'Gal ( Gadot) has done one of her biggest films( Wonder Woman) whilst being pregnant and when she called her up and told the latter about her pregnancy, she was like 'lovely, mazel tov mazel tov..This is such a good omen. So, I got you baby. She was like I'm gonna take care of you. Don't worry about it.(sic)"
Alia added that Gal Gadot genuinely took care of her. "She kept checking whether you're ok, you need to drink water, are you dehydrated, are you eating enough, what are you feeling like etc. etc.I mean the fact that there was that comfort and that ease and like that familiarity like, 'we got this' was really reassuring."
Alia Bhatt is out promoting her upcoming film 'Darlings' as an actor and producer along with co-stars Shefali Shah and Vijay Varma. Her first production venture also happens to be a Netflix film which is slated to release on August 5, 2022.
