'The Guilty Minds' fame actor Varun Mitra was recently seen in the Disney+Hotstar series 'Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo'. He was seen as Kapil, the son of 'Rani Baa' (played by Dimple Kapadia), the Desi Pablo Escobar. In an exclusive interview with ABP Live, he talked about his performance with context to a scene in particular that makes him feel cringe. While expanding on his experience, he revealed that he cringes really hard whenever he watches his scene with Radhika Madan in the series where he was gifting her a VR set. Mitra said that he realised during that scene that he had lost the voice he had kept for his character Kapil in the series. The Director of the series Homi Adajania discussed about Kapil's character with him in terms of depth and gravity and decided that with each scene, his character will evolve as will his voice.

He shared another experience of the time by which he was so much into the character of Kapil and his growth that he couldn't get back the voice of Guilty Minds' Deepak Rana when he needed to. While talking about this transition, Mitra said that while shooting as Kapil for 'Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo', he had to do a dubbing session for the character of Deepak Rana of 'Guilty Minds' as well, which he wasn't able to do because he failed to retrieve the voice that he had formed for Rana's character.

Mitra said, "Kapil's character is a very complex one. He is full of anger, and as actors, we adapt the sensitivity of emotions and start living it. I was so much into the character of Kapil that I couldn't shift back to Rana who is a very happy, cheerful, and more open kind of person. That transition proved to be very difficult for me due to which we had to postpone the dubbing sessions till the time my shooting was over as Kapil."

In the series Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo, Kapil's character is the one that probably goes through the maximum character development. He kicks off the series as an NRI living in the US while speaking in an American accent. He is a very chilled-out and funny character however, as soon as he gets to learn the truth that his whole family had kept from him, he started transitioning into a more complex, confused yet angry sort of person. Every time that his character transitioned, his voice became heavier and Desi.

Mitra, in the telephonic interview, also shared a funny incident from the set where he was left handcuffed to the bed by his on-screen wife Kajal (Played by Angira Dhar), and the rest of the staff for around a good 10 minutes.

He will be seen opposite Kangana Ranaut as her love interest in upcoming movie 'Tejas'.
