New Delhi: Vivek Agnihotri, director of ‘The Kashmir Files,’ is often in the news because of his honest opinions on Bollywood movies and stars. The filmmaker has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with the state of the Hindi film business, and he recently declared, ‘Boycott Bollywood extremely good,’ during an interview.

A recent interview with the Deccan Herald had him discussing his thoughts on the boycott Bollywood movement and how it reflects audiences' disappointment with Bollywood films. He has spoken out against several issues in Bollywood and said, “It’s a complex issue, and calling for a boycott is fundamentally an individual thing. I feel the ‘Boycott Bollywood’ campaign is extremely good as it shows people’s frustration with the kind of films that Bollywood is producing, and its end result will be very positive.”

According to recent reports, ‘Brahmastra’, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia has surpassed ‘The Kashmir Files’ as the highest-grossing film of 2022. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, ‘Brahmastra’ is running successfully at the box office.

‘Brahmastra’ is the year's highest-grossing Hindi film, with a global total that put it ahead of even ‘The Kashmir Files’. The film has overtaken Vivek Agnihotri’s film in international box office earnings, collecting an estimated Rs 350 crore.

On Monday, Vivek Agnihotri took to Twitter and gave his reasoning on how ‘Brahmastra’ beat ‘The Kashmir Files’. He wrote, “Hahahaha. I don’t know how did they beat #TheKashmirFiles… with sticks, rods, hockey… or AK47 or stones…. Or with paid PR and influencers? Let Bollywood films compete with each other. Leave us alone. I am not in that dumb race. Thanks. #NotBollywood”

Vivek also added a few images of PR copies along with his tweet. Take a look:
