New Delhi: Vijay Deverakonda recently attended an event at a hospital where he pledged to donate his organs. The actor mentioned that he doesn't see any point in wasting his organs. He further assured that he would take care of his organs properly so it could help people after him. Netizens appreciated Vijay's gesture and praised him for the same.

The actor spoke about the importance of organ donation. He said, "The importance of organ donation has to be emphasised today. The Liver Pancreas Foundation of Hyderabad has been set up with the right intention. I came to know that many organ transplantation surgeries happen because of public donorship supported by the government. It is incredible that we have so many people donating their organs on humanitarian grounds. In South Asia, organ donation is not going great guns. I have pledged all my organs.”

He further added that organs shouldn’t be allowed to go to waste and that they have to be kept healthy so that they are fit to be donated after our death. Not only Vijay but also his mother has pledged her organs. "I think I will donate all my organs. I would love for it to be part of someone after me and help them in their life. I don’t see any point in wasting my organs. I stay fit and keep myself healthy… My mother and I have registered to donate our organs. It is such a beautiful thing that you continue to live on in some way because of your generosity. I encourage everyone to be open to the idea of organ donation.” Vijay said.

Vijay’s latest outing ‘Liger’ was a dud at the box office and the actor recently spoke about how he took the film’s failure in a conversation with News18.

“I don’t know, if I’ve handled things with grace, I just handle them the way I know how it is. It is my reaction to whatever is happening at that point. I just know that I’m very honest with my emotions and feelings. And if that is what I feel at that point, I express it that particular way. And I know that when it is truly what I feel when it is not something I’m saying to get a reaction or to be part of the popular opinion at that point or to get traction when you know that it’s what you feel inside, even if it’s received well or if it’s not received well, because it can go either way once it goes out into the world, it can be perceived in any way. Well, I just know that when it is something I truly believe in, and I say that, and I will always stand by it. And I will not be affected by how it’s received. So, that’s how I just deal with stuff always," Vijay told News 18.

The actor will be next seen in 'Kushi', a romantic comedy film. It also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The film has reportedly earned Rs.90 crores from OTT rights.
