New Delhi: Tamil actor Vijay Antony who had injured his jaw and nose during the shoot of 'Pichaikkaran 2' shoot in Malaysia is well recovered now. The actor shared an update on his official social media handle about recovering from his major surgery. Taking to Twitter, the actor-composer wrote, "Dear all. At 90%, I’m well on my way to recovery. The nasal bones and jaw seem to have healed quite well. Feeling immensely elated now more than ever all thanks to your love and support.”


Antony added, “From today, I hope to start working on Pichaikkaran 2, slated for release in April. Truly grateful for all your love.”


 




On January 24, Vijay Antony had shared an update that he had undergone a major surgery. Sharing a picture from the hospital, "Dear friends, I am safely recovered from a severe jaw and nose injury during Pichaikkaran 2 shoot in Malaysia. I just completed a major surgery. I will talk to you all as soon as possible. Thank you for all your support and concern for my health.”


Vijay Antony had injured himself while shooting an action sequence i n Langkawi island.The actor was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur.


A source told Hindustan Times that Vijay was injured while sailing a water boat. "They were shooting for an action sequence. He was riding a water boat which kind of lost control and rammed into a bigger boat which was carrying the cameraman’s crew and setup. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur. He’s recovering and stable,” the source said.


Vijay Antony is making his directorial debut with 'Pichaikkaran 2.' The film also stars  Yogi Babu, John Vijay and Kavya Thapar. The film went on the floor a few months ago. As per reports, Vijay was taken to a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur, where he was admitted for treatment.


'Pichaikkaran 2' is the sequel to the highly successful Tamil drama 'Pichaikkaran' which was directed by Sasi. The film revolved around a billionaire who lived a 48-day-long secret life as a beggar to save his dying mother as part of a religious offering.


Besides 'Pichaikkaran 2', Vijay also has films like  Agni Siragugal, Khaki, Kolai, Ratham, and Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan and Tamilarasan in the pipeline.


'Pichaikkaran 2' is the sequel to the 2016 hit drama 'Pichaikkaran'.
