Mumbai is one of the most affected cities with a large number of covid-positive cases. The Bollywood industry has been unable to safeguard themselves from the threats of the wave and news about celebrities testing covid positive are coming in every day. Amidst the danger that lingers, Varun Dhawan posted an Instagram story referring to this situation.

It read, “If you are from Mumbai and your friends are not Covid positive, then you don't have friends.”

Recently, Dhawan’s close friend and colleague actor Arjun Kapoor tested positive along with his cousin Rhea Kapoor and her husband Karan Boolani. Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan and Amrita Arora were also in the news after testing positive for covid.

The current wave of the covid pandemic is having its strong effects on the Bollywood industry with cinemas being shut, movie releases being postponed, shoots being paused and cast and crew testing positive. In the previous year, the shoot of Dhawan’s upcoming film ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ was also paused because various members of the cast had contracted the virus.

The actor even got married in an intimate ceremony in Alibaug last year, in the midst of the pandemic. He married his high school sweetheart, designer Natasha Dalal.

Dhawan would be seen next opposite Kriti Sanon in Bhediya which is directed by Amar Kaushik and will also feature Jahanvi Kapoor and Flora Saini reprising their roles from the previous installments Roohi and Stree.
