New Delhi: Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic dawned upon the human race, many people have suffered and tested positive for the novel virus. This includes celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor and others. Recently, the cast of ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ including Neetu Singh and Varun Dhawan have tested positive for coronavirus. The film’s director Raj Mehta has also contracted the virus.


'Jug Jugg Jeeyo' Shoot Stalled Till Mid-December After Film's Stars Test Positive For COVID-19

After testing positive for COVID-19, Varun Dhawan took to his social media and confirmed the news saying that although all the necessary precautions were taken by the production team, he has contracted the virus. The ‘Coolie No 1’ actor thanked everyone for their ‘get well soon’ messages.

The ‘October’ actor shared a screenshot on his Instagram and wrote, “VITAMIN FRIENDS So as I returned to work in the pandemic era I have contracted covid-19. All precautions were taken by the production but still nothing is certain in life especially not covid-19. So please be extra careful I believe I could have been more careful. I see the get well soon messages and my spirits are high taking each day at a time thank u.”



The other cast of ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ which includes Anil Kapoor and Kiara Advani have tested negative for COVID-19.

Varun, Neetu and Raj are showing mild symptoms. The makers had plans to shoot in Chandigarh till December 24; however, they were forced to put the shoot on halt after the actors were diagnosed with the virus. The team is expected to resume shoot by mid-December after everyone recovers from the virus.

'Jug Jugg Jeeyo' stars Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani in lead roles. The two tinsel town celebs will be portraying a reel-life couple in the flick. The movie also stars Anil Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Prajkta Kohli and Maniesh Paul in pivotal roles. The makers are yet to announce the film's release date.
