‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ release: Chris Hemsworth’s latest has become the most successful movie in the Thor franchise and has recorded an excellent opening weekend at the Indian box office. The film collected ₹64.80 crore in its first weekend. On Sunday, the film earned ₹18.20 crore. 


The film, which stars Christian Bale as the antagonist, marked the fifth-biggest opening day for any Hollywood film in India. 


Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the film’s box office performance in India. He wrote: “#ThorLoveAndThunder has an excellent [extended] Weekend 1... Day 3 and 4 were back to Day 1 levels... Fifth biggest *opening weekend* [#Hollywood films]... Thu 18.20 cr, Fri 11.40 cr, Sat 16.80 cr, Sun 18.40 cr. Total: ₹ 64.80 cr. #India biz. NBOC. All versions.” 



Oscar-winner Taika Waititi’s big-ticket cosmic adventure stars our favourite Avenger Thor aka Chris Hemsworth and a stellar ensemble cast: Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, and Christian Bale who makes his BIG MCU debut as Gorr the God Butcher. 


At a reported $250 million, the film also has the biggest production budget out of all the Thor films made so far. 


Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder is currently in theatres across India in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. 


The film follows Thor, who embarks on a journey, unlike anything he has ever faced — a quest for inner peace. However, his retirement gets interrupted by Gorr the God Butcher, a galactic killer who seeks the extinction of the gods.
