Nayak: The Real Hero


Directed by S. Shankar and produced by A. M. Rathnam under the Sri Surya Movies banner, Nayyak, stars Anil Kapoor with Rani Mukerjee, Amrish Puri, Paresh Rawal, and Johnny Lever in supporting roles. It centres on Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, a television cameraman and eventually television presenter who overhears and tapes a conversation between the police and Maharashtra Chief Minister Balraj Chauhan (Puri). During an interview with Chauhan about the concerns, Shivaji is challenged to take over his position for a day, and later becomes India's successful Prime Minister. The Broken News:


Helmed by Vinay Waikul, the drama series is an official adaptation of the popular British series ‘Press’. The Broken News is made under the production of BBC India. The series centers on two competing news networks, their conflicting ideologies and their incompatible ethics. It shows the reality behind our daily news – the business and the politics of it. The show reveals the lives, lies, love and struggles of a dynamic group of journalists. No One Killed Jessica:


Directed and written by Raj Kumar Gupta. The film stars Vidya Balan and Rani Mukerjee, with Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Myra Karn in supporting roles. The plot centres around a bartender who dies after being shot by a politician's son, and her sister's efforts to pursue justice for her death. Later, she gets the assistance of an investigative journalist, played by Rani Mukherjee, who assists her in seeking justice for her sister. The film is currently available on Netflix.



Dhamaka:


Directed by Ram Madhvani which he also produced alongside Amrita Madhvani under his banner Ram Madhvani Films, along with RSVP Movies, Lotte Cultureworks, Global Gate Entertainment, and Lionsgate Films. The film is an official remake of the 2013 film - The Terror Live, which was co-written in the adaption by Puneet Sharma. The film stars Kartik Aaryan as Arjun Pathak, a journalist who receives a threat after exclusively interviewing a terrorist who blew up a bridge. The film also sees Mrunal Thakur and Amruta Subhash in important roles, you can watch the film on Netflix.



Rann:


Ram Gopal directorial film starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sudeep, Riteish Deshmukh, Paresh Rawal, and Gul Panag. The film premiered at Toronto International Film Festival. The film's plot revolves around the CEO of a television channel who is duped by his own son and son-in-law into creating false news against the Prime Minister. He then recognises and attempts to put things right, even if it means jeopardising his personal life. The film is available on Amazon Prime.
