New Delhi: After a long battle with illness, veteran Telugu actor Kaikala Satyanarayana passed away early on Friday morning at his home in Film Nagar. The actor and former member of parliament had been sick with COVID symptoms since November 2021. He was 87. He is survived by his wife and four kids. 


He was born on July 25, 1935, in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. Kaikala first appeared in ‘Sipayi Kuthuru’ in 1959. 


As soon as word of his passing spread, mourners paid homage to the seasoned actor. 


Actor Nandamuri Kalyaram was among the first notable people to offer his condolence.he tweeted, "Saddened to know about the passing of Kaikala Satyanarayana garu. An absolute legend who immortalised many characters on our Telugu silver screen. Om Shanti."



Saddened by Kaikala Satyanarayana's passing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "Pained by the passing away of noted film personality Shri Kaikala Satyanarayana Garu. He was popular across generations for his remarkable acting skills and diverse roles. My thoughts are with his family and admirers. Om Shanti."



In a tweet, renowned actor Ram Charan said, “Deeply saddened to hear the demise of Kaikala Satyanarayana Garu.. His contribution to our film industry will be remembered forever!! May his soul rest in peace.”



Mahesh Babu wrote, Extremely saddened by the passing away of #KaikalaSatyanarayana garu. I have some very fond memories of working with him. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace 🙏🙏🙏



Chiranjeevi paid tribute to the late actor by saying:

He has appeared in over 770 movies and collaborated with 200 different helmers. His cinematic career spanned five decades, and he played a wide variety of famous roles, including those of protagonist, antagonist, and supporting actor. 


Some of his superhits include Sri Krishnarjuna Yuddham, Narthanasala, Yamagola, Soggadu, Adavi Ramudu, Daana Veera Soora Karna, Tayaramma Bangarayya, Vetagadu, Kondaveeti Simham, Subhalekha, Justice Chowdary, Bobbili Brahmanna, Anveshana, Yamudiki Mogudu, Nari Nari Naduma Murari, Nirdoshi, Bhale Rangadu, Sampoorna Ramayanam and Raitu Bidda.


On Saturday, in Hyderabad's Mahaprasthanam, Kaikala Satyanarayana’s funeral ceremonies will be carried out.
