New Delhi: Sachin Tyagi, Samir Onkar, Swati Chintis and four crew members of ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ recently tested positive for COVID-19. The three actors, who have contracted novel Coronavirus, are currently observing home quarantine. Sachin, Samir and Swati are asymptomatic and they are receiving medical attention at their homes. The makers of the show have santised and fumigated the sets after the actors and crew members tested positive for COVID-19.

Shivanji Joshi and Mohsin Khan, who play the lead roles, underwent tests as they were shooting with Sachin Tyagi in the past few days. The current track of the show is focusing on Sachin’s character Manish Goenka.

According to a report in an entertainment portal, Shivangi and Mohsin have tested negative for COVID-19. Their test reports came on Tuesday (August 25) morning.



The production has asked the team members to rest for some days before the shoot resumes. The makers are expected to resume shooting from this weekend. The creative team will tweak the storyline for few weeks and the focus will now shift to Keerti’s life, sources told Pinkvilla. Keerti will be secretly speaking to her ex husband in the show.

After testing positive for COVID-19, Sachin Tyagi said that he has isolated himself.

“I have tested positive. We have been shooting so peacefully but this has happened nonetheless. I guess we all have to take this positively. I have isolated myself and taking care of my diet. I was asymptotic so could not guess. But thankfully I took the test on time. The production house follows all guidelines on the set and is constantly in touch," the actor said in a statement.

'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' is one of the most popular shows on Indian television. The show, which airs on Star Plus, has successfully completed over 3000 episodes. Shivangi and Mohsin Khan play the respective roles of Naira and Kartik. Their chemistry is quite popular among the viewers.
