New Delhi: Allegations of Uorfi Javed's detention in Dubai coincided with reports of a man's arrest on charges of rape and threats against the actor. It was stated that Uorfi was held by police owing to her provocative dress. Today, taking to social media, Uorfi has addressed the hypocrisy in society.

She posted about the incident on Instagram stories, saying that despite the fact that both pieces of news were making the rounds at the same time, nobody seemed to be talking about the guy who had threatened her.

In the video, she said, "So if you see there are two stories going side by side. One is that I have been jailed in Dubai and the second is, I uploaded that, that the man who was threatening to rape me or kill me, he is in jail right now. But people are interested more in seeing me in jail instead.”

She also added, "Do you see the hypocrisy here? People have no problem with a man who is sending rape threats but with me who wears what she likes."

Uorfi previously posted videos to her Instagram stories using the 'bars' filter and said, "This is what the whole India wants to see right now."

Uorfi made it clear that she was not arrested by the police; nevertheless, there was an issue with the shoot's location that forced the production to end abruptly, sparking widespread outrage online.

Recently, Uorfi Javed was named one of the most popular Indian social media influencers. She is one of the Most Searched Asians according to the list of "Most Searched Asian on Google 2022" that was recently published.  She has left celebrities like Sara Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor behind.

On the work front, Uorfi recently appeared on 'Splitsvilla 14', a reality show hosted by TV actor Arjun Bijlani and Sunny Leone.
