Mumbai: Actor Sumeet Samnani, who made his debut with Salman Khan starrer “Sultan”, will now be seen in TV show “Khidki”.
Many might remember him as the owner of Kukreja Pressure Cookers in the film, and the person who sponsors Sultan (essayed by Salman). He will now be seen playing the role of a 'krantikari' (revolutionary) in the SAB TV show. The track will start from Monday.
“The track will be of a revolution held during the pre-Independence time. I am playing a serious role with a tinge of humour in it,” Sumeet said in a statement.
Talking about his role, he said: “My character's name is Girish who is the best friend of the female lead. He wishes to give his best but can't really be of any help owing to his size and weight.”
Sumeet asserts that the role is very different from “Sultan”.
“The role is different from my character Tiny Kukreja in 'Sultan'. I was playing a sponsor there but back here I am a full on 'krantikari' guy. Even my look has been changed to traditional clothes unlike 'Sultan' where I was in jackets and chains,” he said.
