New Delhi: Popular singer Shaan, who is currently seen as a coach on children singing reality show "The Voice India Kids", got emotional on set after watching fellow coach Shekhar Ravjiani's parents. He says the singer-composer's father Hasmukh Ravjiani, an accordion player, is his mentor.

Shekhar's parents made their television debut on the ‘Family Special' episode of the show. Shaan was elated to see them together.

"My sister Sagarika and I started with performing in small live shows, and I was lucky enough to perform in one of the shows where Hasmukhji was present. At that point in time, he said to me that he would give me and my sister different platforms to perform," Shaan said in a statement.

"It's since last last 24 years that he has been motivating me. I am really gratified to Shekhar's parents and Hasmukhji is one of my mentors," he added.

"The Voice India Kids", aired on &TV, is an Indian version of the internationally acclaimed reality format "The Voice".
