New Delhi: Ekta Kapoor's iconic TV show 'Kasautii Zindagi Kay' is celebrating 22 years today. Ronit Roy thanked Ektaa Kapoor and the show's team and his fans for making him the 'iconic Mr Bajaj'. He also shared a closeup picture with the show's lead actor Sheta Tiwari.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Ronit Roy wrote, "2 years of Kasautii Zindagi Kay, A show that redefined my career, and my life. I thank my fans for the undying love I thank the entire cast and crew of KZK Thank you @ektarkapoor for making me the iconic Mr. Bajaj." Ekta also reshared his post and wrote, "Hugs".
Before making a name for himself with the show, Ronit Roy was seen in films like 'Sainik' and 'Army' in saml parts. He also was part of TV shows like 'Baat Ban Jaye', 'Suraag', and 'Kammal' before becoming a household name with 'Kasautii Zindagi Kay'.
The show first aired in October 2001 and continued to run till 2008. It starred Urvashi Dholakia in one of her most iconic roles, Komolika. It also starred Urvashi Dholakia in one of her iconic roles, Komolika.
Ekta Kapoor had shared her reasons for taking the show off air in an interaction with Mumbai Mirror. She told the publication that the TRPs of the show did go down, adding that also she did not 'have a story to tell.'
Ekta Kapoor rebooted the show in 2018 featuring a new cast.The show ran for two years and featured Erica Fernandes, Sahil Anand, Parth Samthaan, Aamna Sharif, and Shubhaavi Choksey.
Ronit has worked in Bengali, Tamil and Telugu films and has several accolades to his credit. Roy made his debut in the film industry with the film 'Jaan Tere Naam' in 1992. However, it was not until 'Udaan' that he received critical acclaim for his work.
Meanwhile, Ronit Roy has starred in several projects and in many collaborations with Anurag Kashyap. Some of his recent works include 'Shehzada', 'Bloody Daddy' and more.
