Mumbai: Popular TV actor Shaheer Sheikh and his wife Ruchikaa Kapoor celebrated their first Eid-al-Adha after getting hitched. The couple, who tied the knot in a court in November 2020, celebrated the festival in Mumbai. The ‘Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke’ actor couldn’t travel to his hometown as he is busy shooting for his projects in Mumbai.
Shaheer shared a photo with his wife wherein they can be seen smiling while striking a pose for the camera. The two lovebirds complimented each other in traditional outfits. Sheikh wished his fans Eid Mubarak while posting the picture. He captioned his post as, “Selamat Eid-al-Adha.”
Hina Khan, Drashti Dhami, Ruslaan Mumtaz and other small screen celebs dropped comments on the post and wished the couple on Eid 2021. Fans have also flooded the comments section with their messages and wishes.
Shaheer and Ruchikaa, who managed to keep their relationship under wraps for over two years, are all set to become parents. Last month, Shaheer shared a family photo which confirmed that his wife is pregnant with their first child.
On the professional front, Shaheer is currently seen as Dev in ‘Kuch Rang Ke Aise Bhi 3’. The romantic saga co-starring Erica Fernandes and Supriya Pilgaonkar hit the airwaves on July 5, 2021.
The ‘Mahabharat’ star has recently started shooting for ‘Pavitra Rishta 2’. He has stepped into the shoes of late Sushant Singh Rajput, who originally played the role of Manav in the show. Shaheer will be seen sharing screen space with Ankita Lokhande in the upcoming show, which will beam on ALTBalaji.
Several fans expressed their displeasure after Shaheer and Ankita were announced as the leads of the new show. The 'Navya' star penned a long post on Instagram to share his thoughts on replacing Sushant in 'Pavitra Rishta 2.0'.
"Who in their right frame of mind, would dare to play a character immortalised by Sushant Singh Rajput. I too was reluctant. Then I thought, knowing Sushant he was one to take every challenge head on. And so I decided that while it is scary to step into his shoes & live upto audience expectations… it is scarier to NOT even try. And so I did what I felt he would do, if he was in my position. I took the challenge," Shaheer wrote while sharing photos from the sets of his upcoming show.
