Long running Star Plus show 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein', produced by soap queen Ekta Kapoor and featuring Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel in lead roles, is one of the most loved daily soaps on the small-screen. The show completed 5 years in December last year and is a regular slot-leader in the time slot of 10:30pm. While there is a constant buzz that 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' will go off-air in June, last year there was a buzz that the makers are planning a spin-off titled 'Yeh Hai Chahatein'.

Reportedly, the show is very much in the making and might go on floors very soon.

According to an entertainment portal, "The makers are hoping to lock the leads and the supporting cast by June and commence shooting next month itself. The preparations for the same have already begun."

Speaking about the same, a source further told Pinkvilla that, "Auditions are in full swing to cast the leading pair for the show. While Yeh Hai Mohabbatein was a matured love story centred around a divorced man with a 7-8 years daughter and a woman who was infertile, Yeh Hai Chahatein will be slightly more matured with the protagonist playing a father to a teenager preferably in the age gap of 15-16 years old. Many actors have auditioned for the role including the likes of Mrunal Jain, Rahul Sharma, among others."

Recently few reports suggested that 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' season 2 in in the making. Aakanksha Singha and Karan Vohra might play the leads in the show. However, it is not yet clear if the above mentioned spin-off is the same show or a different one.

Whereas, the makers are yet to react on the same.
