Colors TV’s ‘Choti Sarrdaarni’ has managed to win the hearts of the viewers with its entertaining episodes. The popular show starring Avinesh Rekhi and Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia has turned out to be a dark horse as the industry never expected the daily soap to pick up so well. Ardent fans of the show are eagerly waiting to see their favourite characters back on their small screens.

The makers of ‘Choti Sarrdaarni’ are expected to start the shoot soon after the Maharashtra government gave permission for resumption of shooting. The producers will have to keep in mind the guidelines issued by the Uddhav Thackeray led government.

The viewers will get to witness a change in ‘Choti Sarrdaarni’ as a new actress will play the role of Harleen in the show.

According to a report in an entertainment portal, Simran Sachdeva, who played the role of Avinesh Rekhi’s on-screen brother Harleen, will get replaced. Yes, you read that right.

Punjabi actress Drishtii Garewal will step into the shoes of Simran Sachdeva and play the new Harleen.

“There were many reasons that brought about this change. And considering that the shoot will rollback, things had to be in place before the process kickstarts,” a source told IWMBuzz.

Simran, while talking to another portal, expressed her displeasure and revealed that the production house pressurized her to take a pay cut. She even accused that one of the producers misbehaved with her and was ‘disrespectful and rude’.

"There are more than one reasons for the same. Lately, the producers were pressuring me a lot to take around a 40% pay cut which is not feasible for me. Also, in the past I’ve faced many issues with the production house regarding the payments as we weren’t paid on time. One of the producers misbehaved with me and were extremely disrespectful and rude. Now, because of the lock down and the gap, I had the choice to continue with them or not and hence I decided to give it a pass," Simran told Tellychakkar.

Interestingly, the character of Harleen Kaur was originally played by Mansi Sharma, who left the show due health issues in September 2019.
