India's most controversial reality show 'Bigg Boss' is all set to hit TV screens with its twelfth season from 16th September on popular GEC 'Colors'. The 'BB 12' press launch event is currently going on in Goa with show's host & Bollywood superstar Salman Khan interacting with the media in a grand event. Apart from the contestants, the viewers are waiting waiting to see Salman Khan returning as 'Bigg Boss 12' host. But did you know that Salman Khan was not the first choice to replace Amitabh Bachchan as the 'Bigg Boss' host in 2010? During media interaction, Salman revealed that 'Bigg Boss' makers approached Shah Rukh Khan before him to host the show.

Yes, you read that right!

Salman also revealed that SRK couldn't host 'Bigg Boss' due to his shoulder injury after which he came on board.

He said, “Shah Rukh Khan was the first choice to host Bigg Boss but he couldn't make it due to his shoots and shoulder injury. I also got to know about this recently. I want to thank SRK and Colors for giving me BB.

At the press launch, Salman made a grand entry and shook legs on his film songs along with his famous towel dance.

For the uninitiated, Salman started hosting 'Bigg Boss' from season 4. Before that the first three seasons of India's biggest relaity show 'Bigg Boss' were hosted by Arshad Warsi, Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Amitabh Bachchan respectively.

Coming back to 'Bigg Boss 12', the makers are trying to rope in a great set of contestants keeping in mind this year's theme of 'vichitra jodis'. Many popular names like Dipika Kakar, adult star Danny DSsumier S Pasricha aka Pammi Aunty, Devoleena Bhattacharjee among others are reportedly in talks to enter the 'Bigg Boss' house.

'Bigg Boss 12' will air at 10:30 pm from Monday to Friday and at 9 pm on weekends (Saturday-Sunday). Also, Salman will be clashing with his brother Sohail Khan on weekends as 'Bigg Boss' and 'Comedy Circus' (Sohail is judging the show) will battle it out at the same time slot.
