New Delhi: The novel Coronavirus outbreak has halted the functioning of many countries all over the world including India. On April 14, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to nation announced further extension of the nationwide lockdown till May 3. With the entire nation coming to a standstill by the pandemic, entertainment industry too has got affected & the production of films, TV shows and web shows have been shelved owing to lockdown for now. But, here comes bad news for Sony TV fans.

The channel has terminated three popular shows - 'Beyhadh 2', 'Patiala Babes' and 'Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein'. Yes, you read that right! These shows won't return after Coronavirus lockdown.

Confirming the same to a leading daily, the channel said that these shows "are finite fiction shows and the nature and the pace of their narrative is time-bound."

The channel further added, "Given that all shoots have been stalled since March, owing to the unprecedented situation we are in, these shows couldn’t shoot their logical ends. All the three shows have had a good spell and would have paved way to newer narratives eventually, had the shoots been functional. Having said that, keeping the best interests of all in mind and in joint agreement with the producers, it has been decided to terminate these shows, as of now."

Reacting on the shocking development, 'Patiala Babes' lead actress Ashnoor Kaur told TOI that, "I am not able to digest the fact that the show is over and we won't be working as a team. It is sad but I am happy that I got to portray a role like Mini and given the circumstances I think it was in everyone's interests."

On a related note, 'Beyhadh 2', 'Patiala Babes' as well as 'Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein' got rave reviews for their story-lines and performances. However, they weren't fetching expected numbers since last few months and seems like that might also be one of the reasons behind the channel's decision of axing them.

This is indeed a sad news for the fans of these shows.

Jennifer Winget, Shivin Narang and Ashish Chowdhry are playing leads in 'Beyhadh 2', Ashnoor Kaur is seen opposite Sourabh Raaj Jain in 'Patiala Babes' whereas Mudit Nayar and Simran Pareenja are the lead stars of 'Ishaanron Ishaaron Mein'.
