The upcoming 'Colors' show based on 'Mughal-e-Azam' is in the news since a long-time now. While the show's casting is not yet confirmed, reports claim that 'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi' actor Shaheer Sheikh is in advanced talks with the makers & might play the role of 'Salim'. Whereas, 'Beyhadh' actor Piyush Sahdev might be seen as antagonist 'Abu'l-Fazl' in the much-anticipated show. For other pivotal characters, the show's makers are in talks with various known names. According to latest reports, the makers approached TV's yummy-mummy Barkha Bisht Sengupta to play Shaheer Sheikh's on-screen mother 'Jodha' in the magnum-opus.

Reportedly, Barkha has rejected the show after giving a look test.
Speaking about the same, a source told an entertainment portal that, "Sengupta was apparently quite kicked about the project but when she got apprised of that she will have to play a mother of a matured man on screen she ostensibly was taken aback."
Barkha Bisht has earlier played a mother on-screen in 'Naamkarann'. On the personal front too, Barkha is a mother to a 6-year-old daughter Meera.

The source further revealed Barkha's reason to reject the role & added that, "She doesn't want to play a mother to a man who is 34 years old. The age difference between Shaheer and Barkha is of four years. Ergo, the 38-year-old actress was not comfortable and thus declined the offer."
Barkha too confirmed the same and told Tellychakkar that,"I do not want to play a mother to such a big boy because I don't think I would physically look the age and thus, would not be able to justify the character."
She is currently playing the role of 'Prema' in SAB TV show 'Shrimaan Shrimati Phir Se'.
