New Delhi: In ‘Shabaash Mithu’, Taapsee Pannu will be shown as Mithali Doari Raj and will reminisce on her cricketing history. Taapsee released the film’s date today along with the poster. 


Mithali Dorai Raj has a 23-year international career that has included seven straight fifty-wicket hauls in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and four World Cup appearances for India. The novel follows her development from an 8-year-old child with a dream to becoming a cricketing icon throughout the course of the book.


Sharing the poster on Twitter, Taapsee wrote the caption, "There is nothing more powerful than a girl with a dream and a plan to realise it! This is a story of one such girl who chased her dream with a bat in this “Gentleman’s Game”#ShabaashMithu The Unheard Story Of Women In Blue will be in cinemas on 15th July 2022."

Taapsee has received specialised cricket training in order to perform admirably in the role of the legendary Indian female captain. While the filming of the film was taking place, Taapsee teased fans with a series of behind-the-scenes images from the production. 


While shooting at the Lords Cricket Ground in London, UK, the actress expressed her excitement by posting images on social media. At the historic cricket field, she was in awe of the memorabilia on display.


The much-anticipated film, which is directed by Srijit Mukherji and written by Priya Aven, will be released in theatres on the 15th of July.
