Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker on Thursday night confirmed that she has tested positive for COVID-19. Taking to her Instagram handle, Swara informed everyone about her diagnosis. She also urged those who came in contact with her to get themselves tested just to be safe.



According to the statement shared by Swara, she and her family have been isolated since January 5.I have tested  positive for Covid. I developed symptoms on 5th January 2022 and RT-PCR test results just confirmed the same. I and my family have been isolating since 5th Jan evening.. and I'm taking all the necessary precautions. I've informed everyone I met in the week prior about my having Covid; but if anyone else did come into contact with me, please get yourself tested. Double mask up and stay safe y'all," the statement read.


Earlier on Thursday, Telugu superstar Mahesh babu took to his official social media handle to announce that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and is showing mild symptoms. He has isolated himself at home and can’t wait to be back in action. In his post, the superstar also urged his fans and followers to get vaccinated if they haven’t already, as it reduces risk of hospitalization and severe symptoms.



He added,"I've isolated myself at home and have been following medical guidance."



He also requested all those who had come in contact with him in the recent days to get tested. And he used the occasion to "urge everyone who has not taken their vaccination to do so immediately, as it reduces the risk of severe symptoms and hospitalisation". In the end, he said he hoped to be back soon.


Recently, several Bollywood celebrities also tested positive after contracting the virus. Producer Ekta Kapoor, actor-producer John Abraham and his wife Priya Runchal and actress Mrunal Thakur are some of them. Veteran actor Prem Chopra and his wife Uma also got discharged on Wednesday after spending a day at the Lilavati Hospital on testing Covid positive.
