New Delhi: The death case of Sushant Singh Rajput has been grabbing a lot of attention ever since the actor passed away on June 14, 2020. After his father lodged an FIR against his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty and others at Patna Police Station, the case was then transferred to the CBI for investigation. ED and NCB also joined the probe after the money laundering and drug issue popped up while investigating SSR’s death case.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had earlier arrested people from the industry including Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, comedienne Bharti Singh, Haarsh Limbachiyaa and others.

According to the latest update, the NCB has arrested Bollywood makeup artist and hairstylist Suraj Godambe reportedly. Based on a report of PTI, Suraj Godambe and one other person identified as an auto-rickshaw driver named Lalchandra Yadav were arrested after seizing ‘small quantity’ of cocaine from their possession. The agency conducted a raid at Meera Tower in Oshiwara area of suburban Andheri on Wednesday and seized 16 drug packets weighing 17.6 gm from their possession reportedly.

An official was quoted saying by PTI, “Godambe is the receiver of drugs in this case, while Yadav is the supplier. Yadav used to supply cocaine on behalf of a ‘Nigerian syndicate’.” The official further revealed that both of them were arrested after questioning them and were produced before a Mumbai Court. The court remanded the accused in NCB’s custody till December 16.

Meanwhile, the NCB has been conducting searches in Mumbai since Tuesday and have seized 'charas' worth Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 13.51 lakh cash during the searches reportedly. The agency has also arrested two persons, including drug peddler Rigel Mahakal, in connection with a drugs case related to actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death.
