New Delhi: Sunny Leone recently revealed that she received death threats and hate mail from Indian people even before she set foot in the country. Sunny worked in the American adult film industry prior to appearing on the Indian reality television show 'Bigg Boss'.

The actor recently described her very first encounter with trolls. Sunny claimed that she was between the ages of 19 and 20 when she began her career. She claimed that she used to receive death threats and hate letters, which made her believe she would never visit India as Sunny Leone since people were "angry" with her.

In a conversation with Galatta Plus, Sunny talked about her early years in the adult entertainment business and how the response she received in India affected her.

“In the beginning of my career, I received so much hate mail and death threats and all sorts of crazy things when I first came into the adult entertainment industry that I said there is no way I will ever go to India as Sunny Leone because they are so angry at me," Sunny Leone said in the interview.

“When I got those letters, I was 19-20 and when you are 19-20 there’s a lot of things that affect you in a certain way that would never affect me now and you just don’t know. And I was alone so it wasn’t like I had someone to guide me, or speak to about these things saying ‘it’s okay, relax, don’t worry about haters, there are so many out there’. That was my first encounter with trolls and people talking all sorts of bad things," she added.

Meanwhile, Karenjit Kaur, better known as Sunny Leone, made her acting debut in Pooja Bhatt's 'Jism 2' in 2012. Later, she made appearances in movies like 'Jackpot', 'Ragini MMS 2', 'Ek Paheli Leela', and 'Mastizaade'. Currently, she features as a host on the reality dating show 'Splitsvilla X4'.
