New Delhi: Megastar Rajinikanth turned 73 on Tuesday. On the occasion of the star's birthday, ZEE5 unveiled a promo of an upcoming web series 'Koose Munisamy Veerapan', a documentary series on the infamous bandit. In the new promo, Veerappan is seen suggesting to Rajinikanth against joining politics.

In the new promo, Veerappan can be seen talking highly of Rajinikanth as he compares the superstar to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and star MG Ramachandran. In the promo, Veerappan says, "He (MGR) struggled. So, he knows about people’s suffering. It is hard for someone like MGR to be born. But I very well knew that this Rajinikanth would become like him. He respects everyone. He doesn’t disrespect anyone. He is someone who believes in god a lot.”

In another clip, we see Veerappan saying, "Aiyya Rajinikanth average… I am speaking to you. Don’t join anyone and don’t support anyone. Many crocodiles are waiting to exploit you… ambush you… Don’t be fooled.”

The date of the video clips has not been revealed in the video.

In 1996, Rajinikanth spoke against J Jayalalithaa ahead of the elections and stated," even God cannot save the people of the State”. His statement is said to have played a huge role in the election which resulted in DMK's landslide victory.

In 2017, Rajinikanth announced that he would contest in the 2021 state election, but later changed his decision. Since then, Rajinikanth has been focusing on his film career.

Rajinikanth will next be seen in 'Vettaiyan'. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film will be released in 2024. The megastar will also be seen in his daughter Aishwarya's upcoming film ‘Lal Salaam’ in which he will make a cameo appearance.

Meanwhile, Koose Munisamy Veerapan will premiere on Zee5 on December 14, 2023.
