Veteran Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar recently underwent a critical surgery in the United States to remove a cancerous bladder, the surgeon who performed the procedure revealed in a video message. The operation, performed on Wednesday, was a success, and the actor is now stable and on the road to recovery.


Shiva Rajkumar undergoes surgery


Dr. Murugesh Manoharan, who oversaw the procedure, shared details of the surgery, revealing that an artificial bladder was constructed using the actor's intestine. “We are pleased to share an update regarding Shiva Rajkumar’s recent medical procedure. The surgery, performed earlier today, was successful, and we are glad to report that Shiva Rajkumar is now in stable condition and recovering well,” he said in the video.


The surgeon was seen in the video with Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa and Shivarajkumar's wife Geetha.


The actor's family's statement read, "We are pleased to share an update regarding Shivarajkumar's recent medical procedure. The surgery performed earlier on Wednesday (December 25, 2024) was successful and we are glad to report that Shivarajkumar is now in stable condition and recovering well."


Currently, the actor is under close observation, receiving expert care from a dedicated team of doctors and medical staff. His family expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of fans during this challenging time. 


When Shiva Rajkumar spoke about his health


Prior to traveling to the United States, Shiva Rajkumar had addressed his health in an interview but kept the specifics of his illness private. “I am also a human being, and I have a problem. It has come, and I am taking treatment for it. I have about four sessions of treatment to complete," he was quoted as saying by Indian Express.
