‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ has shattered nearly every box office record, becoming the third-biggest Indian film of all time globally, trailing only ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ and ‘Dangal’. With two weeks since its release, the film is on track to surpass the Rs 1000 crore nett milestone in India and is closing in on the Rs 1600 crore mark worldwide.

Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule is the third-biggest Indian film of all time

On day 14, ‘Pushpa 2’ reportedly earned Rs 20 crore across India, marking its lowest single-day earnings. However, this amount is still higher than the opening day collections of most other recent films. Of the Rs 20 crore, the majority came from the Hindi version.

The film's nett domestic collections now stand at Rs 973 crore, and it's expected to cross the Rs 1000 crore mark in two days. Over Rs 600 crore of that total has come from the Hindi version, making it one of the highest-grossing Hindi releases ever. ‘Pushpa 2’ has surpassed massive hits like ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’ at the worldwide box office, though it still trails them domestically. It has also surpassed SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ globally, becoming the third-biggest Indian release of all time.

Pushpa 2 The Rule stampede

A woman died and her young son was injured in a stampede-like situation at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4 during the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ because of Arjun's visit. On December 13, the Telangana police arrested him for not informing them about his visit. He was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court on December 14. The theatre management was also arrested, and a show cause notice was issued to them.

On Wednesday, Arjun's father, producer Allu Aravind, visited the young boy who remains on life support at a hospital in Hyderabad. “I just visited Sri Tej in the ICU. I have spoken to the doctors looking after him. The boy has been recovering slowly in the last 10 days, but it might take longer. We are ready to support in any way we can to help him recover,” he said in a video released.
