New Delhi: With the reality program 'MTV Roadies,' Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, who became a sort of messiah for millions of Indians during the Covid outbreak, has begun his shooting.

The actor is presently in South Africa, where he will be filming for the reality show. The 48-year-old expressed his delight at being offered the new host. He expressed his excitement at the prospect of starting the filming, stating that he had been a long-time fan of the reality show.

MTV India's official Twitter account posted the first look for the Roadies 18 with the caption, "He is excited for this journey & so are we, hoga bohot fun aur adventure @InfinixIndia MTV Roadies- Journey in South Africa (sic)."

Sonu Sood is shown in the promotional video working amidst the farmlands of Moga, his hometown.

Sonu has stepped in the footsteps of Rannvijay Singha, who has been associated with the 'Roadies' brand for the past 18 years. The premiere of the new season is slated to take place in March.

According to sources, the producers of the show have chosen to tweak the premise of Roadies a little. Apparently, the gang leader set-up that featured actress Neha Dhupia, television sensation Prince Narula, VJ Nikhil Chinapa and rapper Raftaar in past seasons will no longer be in the show.

Meanwhile, Sonu Sood will be seen in 'Prithviraj,' a historical epic action drama directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and Koratala Siva's 'Acharya.' With 'Fateh,' he will also make his directorial debut in an action-packed thriller.
