New Delhi: Actress Shilpa Shetty shared a touching letter after her mother Sunanda Shetty underwent surgery in Mumbai. Shilpa updated her Instagram followers on her mother's condition on Thursday by posting a photo of her taken at the hospital. Sushmita Sen's doctor Rajeev Bhagwat, who treated her after the heart attack, was there with Shilpa’s mom. 


Shilpa said that the past several days have been a roller coaster journey and wrote: “Seeing a parent undergo a surgery is never easy for any child. But, if there’s anything I want to emulate from my mom it’s her guts and her fighting spirit. The last few days have been a roller coaster.”


She also extended gratitude to the hospital's physicians and nurses for their care of her mother. Shilpa, in a long letter, called her mother a "hero," saying, “But my hero and my hero’s hero saved the day! Thank you so much, Dr Rajeev Bhagwat for taking such good care of Ma before, during, and after her surgery. A HUGE thank you with a grateful heart, to the doctors and the staff at Nanavati for their relentless support & care. Please do keep Ma in your prayers till she makes a full recovery, my dearest #InstaFam Prayers work miracles.”






Netizens and friends chipped in with good wishes for a rapid recovery as soon as the news was posted on social media.


Sister Shamita Shetty wrote, "Our momie is the strongest. Love ya." Actress  Raveena Tandon wrote, "Wishing a speedy recovery." Dia Mirza also commented, "May she heal well. Love and good energy coming her way."


On the work front, Shilpa will next be seen in Rohit Shetty's cop drama 'Indian Police Force' which stars Sidharth Malhotra and Vivek Oberoi in the lead.
