New Delhi: A Metropolitan Magistrate's court in Andheri annulled a bailable warrant and gave Sunanda Shetty, the mother of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, bail in connection with a cheating case.

On Tuesday, Sunanda went to court and requested that a warrant issued by Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate RR Khan be cancelled after she failed to show up for a hearing in the matter, which was scheduled for last month. Additionally, the judge granted her bail request as well.

Indian Express stated that the judge granted her release on a personal bond and surety of Rs 15,000 or a temporary cash bail of Rs 25,000.

Sunanda's bailable warrant was issued by the court last month. The court denied Sunanda's lawyer's request for an exemption from the hearing and issued a Rs 1,000 warrant instead.

It is claimed that Parhad Amra, the owner of Mervin Automotive, was given a loan of Rs. 21 lakh by a Shetty family-owned business in 2015. Following Surendra Shetty's 2016 death, the family reportedly refused to pay back the money.

According to the investigation, Sunanda Shetty's late husband Surendra took out a loan for Rs 21 lakh in 2015, which was later shown to be a scam. Amra sought to claim that the Shetty family refused to return the debt after Surendra Shetty died in 2016. The Shetty sisters, Shilpa and Shamita, were previously linked to the case.

An important judgement in the fraud and cheating case against Shilpa Shetty Kundra's mother, Sunanda Shetty, has been pronounced by the Mumbai magistrate court after a long wait. The Shetty family's legal battle seems to be coming to an end.
