New Delhi: The entertainment industry woke up to devastating news as actress and model Shefali Jariwala, fondly remembered as the 'Kaanta Laga' girl, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 42. While many know her for her hit music videos and stint on 'Bigg Boss 13', Shefali had also carved a brief but memorable path in the South Indian film industry, sharing screen space with Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar.
In 2011, Shefali appeared in the hit Kannada film 'Hudugaru', directed by K. Madesh. She featured in the peppy number 'Pankaja', a high-energy dance track that added a touch of glamour to the emotional drama. Sung by Mamatha Sharma, V. Harikrishna, and Naveen Madhav, with lyrics by Yogaraj Bhat, the song showcased Shefali’s vibrant screen presence and marked her regional debut.

About 'Hudugaru'
'Hudugaru', released in 2011, followed the story of three close friends, Prabhu (Puneeth Rajkumar), Siddesh (Yogesh), and Chandru (Srinagara Kitty). Their lives take an unexpected turn when their friend Sudhir asks for help eloping with his girlfriend Sushma, leading to a series of emotional and personal setbacks.
For Shefali, this marked her expansion beyond Bollywood, following her 2004 debut in 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' alongside Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra.
Shefali Jariwala’s Sudden Death
Tragically, Shefali passed away late Friday night. As per reports, she suffered a sudden cardiac arrest at her Mumbai residence. Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, along with a few others, rushed her to Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival. The cause of death remains unconfirmed, and an official statement from the family is awaited.
