New Delhi: Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly sustained a back injury during the shoot of his upcoming film 'King', currently being directed by Siddharth Anand. The incident occurred while SRK was shooting an intense sequence at a studio in Mumbai, sparking momentary panic among the crew.

According to the Hindustan Times report, the injury is not serious but is being treated with caution. Shah Rukh has flown to the US for medical consultation and is now focusing on his recovery.

“He was shooting in Mumbai when he was injured. The exact details of the injury are being held under wraps at the moment. It is more of a muscular injury and nothing serious. That being said, it is not being taken lightly. Shah Rukh has travelled to the US for medical attention. He has been suggested to take a one-month rest,” said the source.

As a result, the shoot schedule initially planned for July and August has been halted.

“Till then, Shah Rukh has been advised to rest and focus on the recovery. In fact, he has also been asked to get back to the set with caution,” the source added.

This isn’t the first time Shah Rukh Khan has dealt with a back injury. Over two decades ago, while filming Boney Kapoor’s 2002 movie 'Shakti: The Power', the actor suffered a serious spinal issue. He later underwent surgery in the UK, where doctors diagnosed him with a prolapsed disc.

About 'King'

'King' is one of the most anticipated projects of the year, especially as it marks Suhana Khan’s theatrical debut. The cast includes Saurabh Shukla, with rumours of Deepika Padukone, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Anil Kapoor also joining the ensemble. While official confirmations are awaited, the film has already built major buzz.
