New Delhi: Samantha Ruth Prabhu is currently recovering from Myositis, an auto-immune condition that causes aching muscles. The actor, gearing up for the release of her upcoming film 'Shaakuntalam', recently resumed work as she started shooting for Citadel with Varun Dhawan.  


She recently went to Tamil Nadu’s Palani Murugan temple to seek blessings. The actress climbed 600 steps to reach the temple and lit camphor on every step. Photos and videos of the actress offering prayers are doing the rounds on social media. She can be seen dressed in a simple salwar kameez. The actor was accompanied by her Jaanu director C Prem Kumar.   


 






Samantha opened up about her diagnosis in 2022. She recently said that she has to take Intravenous Immunoglobulin Therapy (IVIg) sessions every month as a part of her treatment. 


On the work front, Samantha's upcoming epic love story 'Shaakuntalam' will be released in theatres on February 17. 
 
'Shaakuntalam' is a Telugu language mythological drama written and directed by Gunasekhar. 
 
Based on a popular play Shakuntala by Kalidasa, the film features Samantha in the titular role of Shakuntala and Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, the king of Puru Dynasty, along with Mohan Babu, Gautami, Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla in supporting roles. 


She will also be starring alongside Varun Dhawan in the Indian installment of the 'Citadel' universe, the global-event series from Prime Video and the Russo Brothers' AGBO. 


The untitled 'Citadel' series based out of India is being helmed by renowned creator duo Raj and DK, who are the showrunners and directors. The local installment is written by Sita R. Menon, along with Raj and DK. 


She will also be seen with Vijay Deverakonda in Telugu romantic drama 'Kushi.' She recently informed her fans that the film’s shoot will resume soon. 


Samantha was last seen in the Telugu action-film 'Yashoda'.
