New Delhi: As India gets gripped with the 74th Republic Day fervour, several celebrities took to their social media handles to extend their heartiest wishes on the occasion. The Constitution of India came into effect on January 26, 1950, making the country a republic. Ever since then, Republic Day, one of the national festivals of India, is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm across the country.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter handle to extend his wishes on the 74th Republic Day. Wishing everyone, he wrote, "Happy Republic Day to all of you. A day to mark our proud heritage. This year, this day is going to be most special for me. You’ll soon know why. Jai Hind."

South actor Prithviraj Sukumaran also wished everyone through a post on social media. He wrote, "Happy Republic Day!"

South superstar Mohanlal extended his heartiest wishes to all asking everyone to "celebrate our nation with grand festivities and patriotic fervour."

He wished everyone by writing, "As the Republic of India turns 74, let us pledge our continued loyalty to our Motherland. Proud of our heritage and united in diversity, let us celebrate our nation with grand festivities and patriotic fervour. Happy #RepublicDay to all!"

Bollywood actress Ananya Panday wished everyone by sharing a picture of herself dressed in white, holding a floral bouquet in her hands in the shades of the tricolour. She wished by writing, "Jai hind! 🇮🇳🤍"

Television actress Charu Asopa also shared a series of pictures with her daughter. The mother-daughter duo can be seen dressed in matching outfits in the shades of the Indian flag.
