New Delhi: Actor Rasik Dave died on Friday at 65 due to kidney failure. Rasik, who was married to ‘Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' actor Ketki Dave, was suffering from a kidney-related ailment for four years. Rasik is survived by his wife, daughter, and son.   


In an interview with Hindustan Times, Rasik Dave’s mother-in-law actor Sarita Joshi revealed that the actor was in ICU for 15 days. “He was undergoing dialysis and was hospitalized. The doctors said infection hogaya tha. He has been suffering from kidney problems for the last four years. He was admitted to the ICU for 15 days. But after a point, he just wanted to come back to his home. Kantal gaya tha. Ketaki (Dave, actor and Rasik’s wife) brought him home. He was on bed rest. But then he passed away at seven in the evening. On Saturday morning at sever we had his antim sanskar as per his family’s rituals,” the actress was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times. 


Sarita Joshi also stated that Rasik was waiting for a kidney transplant. “Rasik was a very courageous human. Bohot mehnat ki. He was quite a foodie, so it was difficult for him. We were waiting for a transplant. But then this disease is quite painful. Only the ones who go through it know the real trouble,” she told Hindustan Times. 


Rasik was a well-known name in Gujarati film and theatre circles. Rasik and Ketaki Dave also ran a Gujarati theatre company. He started his career in 1982 in the Gujarati film 'Putra Vadhu'. He has also worked in many Hindi television serials including ‘Mahabharat’. Ketaki and Rasik also participated in 'Nach Baliye' in 2006.
