New Delhi: Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film 'Jayeshbhai Jordaar' has landed into a legal trouble a few days before its release. A plea has been filed in the Delhi High Court over a scene in the upcoming movie's trailer.

An NGO named Youth Against Crime has moved the Delhi High Court over the depiction of a prenatal sex-determination scene in the film’s trailer.

As per the plea, though the film is against female foeticide and promotes the "Save Girl Child" slogan, the trailer of the film advertises the use of ultrasound techniques.

“The ultrasound clinic scene where the technology of ultrasound for sex selection is being advertised openly without censor and as per section 3, 3A, 3B, 4, 6 & 22 of the PC & PNDT Act, same is not allowed & hence the instant PIL,” advocate Pawan Prakash Pathak said as cited by Live Law.

'Jayeshbhai Jordaar', starring Ranveer Singh, Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Deeksha Joshi, is slated to release on 13th May. Directed by Divyang Thakkar is a social comedy-drama based on female foeticide and patriarchy.

The film’s trailer was released on 19th April where Ranveer is seen as the son of Boman Irani, a conservative village sarpanch, and his wife, Ratna Pathak Shah. The trailer depicts how Ranveer’s character does everything in his power to save his yet-to-be-born child. The film is about the extraordinary heroism of an ordinary man when pushed to the brink. The film is produced by Aditya Chopra and Maneesh Sharma under Yash Raj Films.
