Ranveer Singh, one of Bollywood's most bankable actors at the moment, has grown significantly since his film debut. His route wasn't easy, though, as indicated by the incidents he has described. Singh, who has been in lead of several big banner films, reportedly had trouble finding work for more than three years.

Ranveer Singh also got into contact with a shady side of the Hindi film industry as he was looking for acting gigs. Recently, the actor recalled an incident that occurred when he was in his mid-20s, describing how one now-deceased renowned producer had let his dog loose on him. When Ranveer Singh spoke on stage at the Marrakech International Film Festival, he detailed how the producer in question did so at a private soriee. Despite the fact that the producer had personally invited Ranveer there for a meeting, this still happened.

Ranveer Singh revealed an incident in which he was sought for sexual favours during the same conversation, dispelling the misconception that only actresses experience the casting couch. He recalled the dreadful episode when he was subtly approached for sexual favours by a casting director or producer, who he would not name.

“This guy calls me to this seedy place and is like, ‘Are you a hard worker, or a smart worker?’. I didn’t consider myself to be smart, so I said:  ‘I think I’m a hard worker.’ He was like, ‘Darling, be smart, be sexy’. I had all those kinds of experiences during those three-and-a-half years, and I think it was that period that makes me value the opportunities I have now,” Singh revealed.

After making his Bollywood debut in 2010 with 'Band Baaja Baaraat', Ranveer Singh went on to star in a handful of superhit movies over the years. He is now working on 'Cirkus' by Rohit Shetty and 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani', the directorial comeback of Karan Johar.
