New Delhi: The trailer of Akshay Kumar and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer ‘Ram Setu’ is out. The actor plays an archaeologist in the film who is on a mission to save Ram Setu in three days. 


Akshay Kumar took to social media to unveil the trailer. He wrote, “You loved the first glimpse of #RamSetu…Hope you show even more love to the trailer. और इस दिवाली, आइये अपने पूरे परिवार के साथ राम सेतु की दुनिया का हिस्सा बनने| #RamSetu. 25th October. Only in Theatres worldwide.” 



The trailer starts with the news that the government has requested Supreme Court's permission to demolish Ram Setu. Akshay Kumar is then given the task of discovering the reality of the bridge. The trailer ends with Akshay coming out of the sea with a stone on his shoulder, with a voiceover in the background that says, "There are millions of temples of Shri Ram in the world, but, Setu is only one." 


Akshay is playing an ‘atheist archaeologist-turned-believer’, who has to ‘prove the true existence of the legendary Ram Setu before evil forces destroy the pillar of India’s heritage’, 


According to the Ramayana, the Vanara army led by Lord Rama built the bridge Ram Setu between the seventh and third centuries in order to cross over to Lanka and rescue Ram's wife Sita from the hands of the monarch of Lanka, Ravana.  


The film also stars Satya Dev, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Nasser, Pravesh Rana, Jennifer Piccinato. 


‘Ram Setu’ is directed by Abhishek Sharma and produced by Aruna Bhatia and Vikram Malhotra under their respective home companies Cape of Good Films and Abundantia Entertainment. 


‘Ram Setu' will release during the Diwali weekend, on October 25. The action flick will have its first online debut on Amazon Prime Video shortly after its release on the big screen.
