New Delhi: After Rakhi announced her wedding on social media last week, rumours began to circulate that Adil had denied ever marrying Rakhi. Adil Durrani, who had been silent about his marriage to Rakhi Sawant for days, eventually broke his silence by accepting the wedding. The newlyweds continued their recent media appearance by saying that Bollywood actor Salman Khan had contacted them.
A video of Rakhi claiming that her "bhai," Salman Khan, contacted Adil to get him to accept her has made the rounds on the internet. She said that when the celebrity watched multiple videos online alleging problems in her marriage, he made an effort to find out the truth. "woh mere bhai hai, ye unka jija hai, damad hai," she added, pointing to Adil.
Afterwards, Adil shared Salman's phone conversation with him, “He (Salman Khan) just told me to 'Accept it’. Agar karna hai toh accept kar warna deny kar, jo bhi hai sach face kar." Adil said that he felt no compulsion to lie and thus he spoke the truth.
In a video shared by Rakhi, she can be heard saying, “Mere bhai ne mera ghar basa diya” (My brother saved my marriage).
Even so, Rakhi has accepted her new identity as Fatima Durrani.
Rakhi had earlier spoken to ETimes about her marriage. “I got married to Adil after three months of knowing him. We had a nikah ceremony and a court marriage. Since he stopped me from disclosing it, I remained tightlipped for the past seven months. He felt that it would get difficult to find a suitor for his sister if people got to know about our marriage. According to him, tum Rakhi Sawant ke saath judoge toh tumne badnaami lee hai (If you associate yourself with Rakhi Sawant then that means you have invited shame).” she told ETimes.
Rakhi Sawant was previously married to Ritesh Raj.
