New Delhi: It’s been almost a month since Raju Srivastava has been undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi after he suffered a heart attack on August 10. The comedian’s wife has given his health update and requested his fans to pray for his recovery. 


When asked about Raju's health, his wife Shikha told ETimes, "All I can say is that his condition is stable and he is still on a ventilator. The medical team is doing their best and we all want your prayers, so that he recovers and is back with us." 


On Tuesday, his chief advisor Ajit Saxena had said that Raju has shown slight improvement and is now able to move his hands and feet after gaining consciousness. He had also said that the comedian tried interacting with his wife Shikha Srivastava after improving his mobility.   


The 58-year-old stand-up comedian suffered a heart attack while he was working out in a South Delhi gym. Raju was complaining that he felt uneasy when he was moved to the hospital. He underwent an angioplasty the same day and has been on a ventilator ever since. 


Over the past few days, the comedian's health has witnessed significant fluctuations. On September 1 it was reported that Raju was suffering from mild fever after contracting the infection. The fever subsided after a few days.   


Raju Srivastava has carved a niche for himself in the world of stand-up comedy with his well-timed jokes and comic takes on some very relevant situations in life. He rose to fame with the first of its kind stand-up comedy talent hunt show 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge', with its first season premiering in the year 2005     


He has appeared in Hindi films such as "Maine Pyar Kiya", "Baazigar", "Bombay to Goa" (remake) and "Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya". He was one of the contestants on "Bigg Boss" season three.
