New Delhi: Tamil superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film ‘Annaatthe’ is all set to release in theatres on November 4, 2021. Sun Pictures, who is producing the film took to their social media and shared the release date.

Taking to their official Twitter account, Sun Pictures wrote, “#Annaatthe will be releasing on November 4th, 2021! Get ready for #AnnaattheDeepavali! @rajinikanth @directorsiva @KeerthyOfficial @immancomposer”.



Written and directed by Siva, this Tamil action film stars Rajinikanth, Meena, Khushbu, Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara, Prakash Raj and Vela Ramamoorthy. This movie also marks Thalaiva’s 168th film for which the ‘Annaatthe’ was earlier tentatively titled ‘Thalaivar 168’. The makers revealed the title last year on February 24. Earlier, the film was slated to hit the screens during the occasion of Pongal but got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.


Also, during the shooting of Annaatthe, Rajinikanth got hospitalised due to fluctuating blood pressure remained at Hyderabad.


Though Rajinikanth tested negative for coronavirus, he had isolated himself after a few crew members from 'Annaatthe' tested positive for COVID-19. The '2.0' actor was however admitted to the hospital for close monitoring of his fluctuating blood pressure.


Rajinikanth was born as Shivaji Rao Gaekwad in the year 1950 to a Marathi family in Bangalore. The superstar made his debut in the K. Balachander's 1975 Tamil drama ‘Apoorva Raagangal’. Since then, there has been no stopping for the actor as he went to star in several movies which made his mark in the film industry. Rajinikanth has won many awards including ‘Padma Bhushan’ and ‘Padma Vibhushan’. He has also won many international awards for his contribution in the field of cinema.
