Music fans took to Twitter to express their appreciation for Shahzaman's performance. "Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's son. OMG, does he not sound like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan?," one person wrote, while another said, "He has a similar voice as Nusrat, but both Nusrat and Rahat were much more polished qawwals by this age. Nusrat was without a doubt the best!" the user said.
Shahzaman is also well-liked among Indians. According to media reports, the young qawwal performed at Anant Ambani's 28th birthday bash in Dubai in April.
Shahzaman and his father Rahat frequently jam and perform on stage together. He had previously spoken openly about his father's role in his musical journey. "What a great dad he is!" he wrote on Instagram. "Allows me to take his seat while he takes mine. Knowing that I still have to earn this seat, but how eagerly he wants to see me on it. How fortunate I am to have a father and an Ustad like my father," he added.
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan has sung some of the most memorable Hindi film songs, including "Dulhe Ka Sehra" by Suniel Shetty, Akshay Kumar, and Shilpa Shetty, among others. The Qawwali maestro has given some memorable numbers such as The Dum Mast Qalander Mast and Jhule Jhule Laal. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Nusrat's nephew, previously sang for Bollywood films until Pakistani artists were barred from working in India in 2016.
