New Delhi: Late Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar’s last film Gandhada Gudi’s trailer was released on Sunday. 'Gandhada Gudi' is a docudrama exploring the wildlife of Karnataka and is slated to release in cinemas on October 28, a day ahead of the actor's first death anniversary.
Directed by Amoghavarsha, the docudrama features Puneeth and the filmmaker.
Puneeth Rajkumar’s wife Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar took to Twitter and unveiled the trailer. She wrote, “Presenting #GandhadaGudi - Celebrating the Journey of A True Hero. From Karnataka, India to the world, with love.”
She also shared the trailer with PM Narendra Modi. She tweeted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi stating that her husband enjoyed the interactions with him. She wrote, "Namaste @narendramodi, Today is an emotional day for us as we are releasing the trailer of #GandhadaGudi, a project close to Appu's heart. Appu always cherished the interactions with you & would have loved to share with you in person (sic)."
Ashwini also shared a throwback picture featuring herself, Puneeth Rajkumar, and Prime Minister Modi. Along with the priceless frame, she wrote, “Appu is not in our midst, but his life and work motivates and gives us the strength to embrace the culture of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'. G GMovie celebrates cinema and also holds a mirror to the rich heritage, culture, nature, and diversity of our land.”
PM Modi replied to her tweet by writing, “Appu lives in the hearts of millions around the world. He was brilliance personified, full of energy and blessed with unparalleled talent. Gandhada Gudi is a tribute to Mother Nature, Karnataka's natural beauty and environmental conservation. My best wishes for this endeavour.”
The trailer shows breathtaking views of Karnataka, including underwater life, tribals, forests, streams, lesser-known islands. The docudrama will release in Kannada, Hindi and English.
Puneeth Rajkumar passed away on October 29, 2021, after suffering cardiac arrest. He was 46 years old.
