New Delhi: Priyanka Chopra opened up for the first time about her daughter and shared ideas about how she wishes to bring her up. The 'Quantico' star and her husband, Nick Jonas welcomed a baby girl via surrogacy in January this year.

In a candid chat with comedian Lilly Singh, who is launching her book ‘'Be a Triangle: How I Went from Being Lost to Getting My Life ...' , Priyanka shared how she wants to bring up her daughter in a non-judgmental environment just like how her parents brought her up.

"As a new parent right now, I keep thinking about that I will never be imposing my desires, fears, my upbringing on to my child. I have always believed that children come through you, not from you. There is no belief like this is my child and I will shape everything. They come through you to find and build their own life. Recognising that really helped me, my parents were very non-judgmental in a certain way," Priyanka said.

Priyanka and Nick are yet to share any pictures of their newborn. The couple dated for a few months in 2018 and got married in December of the same year in Rajasthan. Their destination wedding was grand and was attended by close family and friends.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Priyanka Chopra will next be seen in Farhan Akhtar's 'Jee Le Zaraa' opposite Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. On the international front, she has 'Text For You' and the web series, 'Citadel'. Priyanka will also be starring in 'Ending Things' opposite Anthony Mackie.
