New Delhi: Amidst her hectic schedule promoting Citadel and attending the Met Gala, Priyanka Chopra Jonas shared a depressing incient from beginning of her acting career. Priyanka spoke openly about her botched nose job on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show. The ‘Citadel’ actress said her career was almost derailed when a routine treatment went wrong in a recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show. During the early stages of her career, the actress had surgery to remove a polyp from her nasal cavity.
During an interview on The Howard Stern Show on Sirius XM, Priyanka Chopra spoke openly about a "dark phase" in her life. Priyanka said that her life was turned upside down after the removal of a polyp from her nose. “This thing happens, and my face looks completely different, and I went into a deep, deep depression,” she shared.
Priyanka further revealed that it was her father who encouraged her to get corrective surgery done. “I was terrified of that, but he was like, ‘I will be in the room with you.’”
According to an excerpt from her upcoming biography ‘Unfinished,’ published in People magazine in 2021, "While shaving off the polyp, the doctor also accidentally shaved the bridge of my nose and the bridge collapsed. When it was time to remove the bandages and the condition of my nose was revealed, Mom and I were horrified. My original nose was gone. My face looked completely different. I wasn't me anymore."
Priyanka Chopra earlier revealed that she felt "pushed into a corner" in Bollywood and that she was not being cast in any new roles. She eventually relocated to Hollywood, where she released her first song, ‘In My City,’ in 2012.
